Five Items to Personalise Your Wedding

I love reminiscing about our wedding day. It was one of the most wonderful days of my life.  My husband and I will be celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary next year. Hopefully it won’t be “unlucky for some” as we’ve had an amazing 13 years together and we’re looking forward to the future.

All those years ago, though, weddings were a very different affair to what they are today.  Ours was a small, intimate affair at a country house in a market town in England.

Weddings should be all about creating memories for the future and celebrating who you are, both individually and as a couple and as such I’ve chosen a selection of bespoke items to make your day extra special from Personalised Favours, an Australian brand who specialise in innovative personalised gifts.  I'll be honest that I've just wasted an hour getting lost in their cool stuff when I should've been wrapping presents!

Your engagement party and wedding invitations are one of the first things you need to organise after picking a date for your special day. You want your wedding invitations to represent your relationship and get your guests excited for the big day, so choose a unique design and have it customised to perfection. You can see some beautiful invitations here at Personalised Favours, a bespoke online store for custom-made gifts.

I absolutely adore these acrylic ones, how cool are they?

When it comes time to sign the marriage certificate, why not do it with your own specially personalized pen?   You could have Mr & Mrs engraved on the pen, or perhaps the grooms surname so it becomes a keepsake of your special day.   You could always have your pet names for each other engraved on them!

 Bridal Party Gifts

It’s becoming more and more popular for the bride to present the members of the wedding party with a keepsake of the day.  The best gifts are those that come from the heart, so personalise a special gift for the people who will be beside you at the altar. For the bridesmaids, it could be a necklace with their name on it, a leather clutch with their initials or perhaps a ‘bridesmaid’ kimono to wear while you all get ready on the big day. For the groomsmen, give them something they can wear on the day, such as matching cuff links with a hint of personalisation.

Wine Glasses

If you want to make a keepsake for all of your guests, have the wine glasses engraved with the bride and grooms names and the wedding date. Then at the reception, encourage guests to take their wine glass home with them to remember the special day. Older relatives, parents and long-time family friends will love this special touch, and they’ll use their personalised glass on for years to come.

This is completely my favourite idea ever!  I wore bright red sandals to my wedding and I would’ve been so excited if I could’ve done this.  Yes, you can personalise the soles of your wedding shoes, just like Woody from Toy Story!  While you won’t see it during the ceremony, it’s the perfect touch to one part of your outfit that you are likely to wear again and again. The bride and groom could get Mr & Mrs on their respective shoes, or Bride and Groom in beautiful cursive writing. This also makes for a great photo as you get ready on the day.

  1. Love your wedding photo. We threw a surprise wedding at our beach engagement party. It was all fairly low key and lacking in real tradition, so nothing personalised.

  2. Merry Christmas

  3. It's a pleasure to read your blog :)Look forward to your updating:)

Lovely post! Very well written. Keep in touch.

I love getting comments!
