The Devil is in the Details - The Mystery Jacket

It was a few weeks ago now that Raychael from Agent Mystery Case came up with the crazy idea of "the travelling jacket".  The idea is that the jacket (from Raych's own hoard of jackets) will be passed from blogger to blogger and each will put their own unique spin on it.  The jacket will make its way around Australia, pitstopping in Europe and then land back at Raychaels, hopefully with a host of bloggers' business cards attached.

I was first in line to get the jacket and you'll notice from my photos that I've not revealed to much of the jacket's design.   I wanted to play with the styling of the jacket and show that you can up the stakes of the simplest of pieces by the way you wear it.  You can see that I've tied the collar in an unusual way, and cuffed the sleeves, exposing a little of the tonal pastel shirt I'm wearing underneath.

It is these little tweaks that can take your outfit from basic to unique, and help create your own Style Signature.

More examples of such tweaks are:

-Cuffing your jeans to expose a little ankle and show off your shoes - I rarely wear my jeans full length.

-Layering your bracelets to add a little bohemian charm.

-Mixing gold and silver jewellery together.

-Wearing a couple of tonal prints to create an "almost" clash effect.

I don't know where the jacket is off to next, it's all top secret, but I'm looking forward to seeing the next blogger's interpretation of the mystery jacket.

How do you tweak your outfits to make them unique?

  1. Looking forward to following this jacket's adventures! I nearly always roll up long sleeves; and in Winter it's rare that I don't add a scarf :-)

  4. Love this! I wonder where the jacket will end up next. I must confess, the entire time I've owned the jacket... I've never worn the collar like that. Looks fab.
