The Bindaring Clothing Sale - A Huge Announcement

It's been an exciting couple of weeks over at the blog.  Not only have I eaten my body weight in Easter Eggs and have an couple of exciting collaborations in the pipeline, but I also have a rather fabulous announcement to make.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if there was a place that was overflowing with wonderful preloved clothes and accessories, all at bargain prices?  Not just your average op-shop, but something on a much grander scale?  Somewhere that had vintage treasures, designer items and bargain basement goodies all under one roof?  I'm almost giddy with excitement to tell you, Perth people, that the Bindaring Clothing Sale is all of these things and more!

On Saturday 16th May, the Robinson Pavilion at Claremont Showgrounds will be transformed into the thrifty shopping venue of your dreams.  Put it in your diary. Now.  I've been to this event a couple of times and I guarantee you'll come away with a huge smile on your face.

The Op Shop Hall at the Bindaring Clothing Sale

It really is an event of mega proportions and has been running for over 50 years - last year it raised a much needed $130,000.  And the best thing is that all funds raised go directly to the Red Cross who support the vulnerable in our WA community with things like:

  • Emergency Response and Post Disaster Community Support which is active in Carnarvon now in response to the recent cyclone
  • Blood donations
  • Telecross a daily reassuring call to at risk people living alone
  • Good Start Breakfast Club providing a nutritious breakfast to children who would otherwise go without
  • Save-A-Mate program educating young people to help reduce the harm associated with substance use
  • Soup Patrol serving a hot meal to homeless or otherwise disadvantaged people
  • Support for the homeless
And you know what's really exciting?  They've asked me (ME!) to be one of their event stylists with a couple of other wonderful Perth Fashionistas. There'll be more information on my involvement during the next couple of weeks and I'll let you know a bit more about what to expect at the sale, including some hot shopping tips!

Designer Items all donated to the Bindaring Clothing Sale!
I'm so thrilled to be working with the Red Cross.  Those of you who followed my Restyle journey will know that helping out the community through shopping is a big tick in the box for me.  Of course, I'm joking about that, but honestly, with something like the Bindaring Clothing Sale everyone's a winner.  We get to buy vintage trinkets and designer handbags at knock down prices and the Red Cross get funds.  What's not to love about that?

Keep your eye out on Instagram and follow the Bindaring Clothing Sale for sneak peeks at the designer items on offer.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter - I'm off for a handful of mini-eggs...xx

  1. So thrilled for you. Can't wait to hear more about it. I'm wondering if it might be a great place to finally offload my wardrobe. Will have to case the stall holder side of things if I haven't already left it too late.

    1. Thanks Raychael, I'm a bit excited at the thought of all those lovely clothes at such amazingly low prices. Last time I went I came out with a couple of bags stuffed full of goodies. I really should be selling though not buying!

    2. Why don't we put hosting a 40 plus blogger garage sale on the agenda later in the year. I've been casing venues and think I may have found one that might work. I wonder how many other bloggers would be keen to join in?
