In the Sack with Mystery Case

You may have heard that I'm one of the super special, elite, hand-picked, remarkable "twelve bloggers blogging" over at Agent Mystery Case.  Did I blow my own trumpet enough then?

If you haven't already, you need to head over to Mystery's blog and find out what all the festive fuss is about.  She's bringing you giveaways, fun and frivolity in the lead up to Christmas and not a gift guide in sight (what to buy your second cousin's boyfriend for under $7.50, anyone?).

Now apparently, lots of you lucky lot go away over Christmas - we've never quite managed it as the logistics of three kids and two huge dogs makes me want to hide in a cupboard and drink the Christmas brandy.  I thought it might be useful to come up with a clever capsule wardrobe that will take you all the way from Christmas Eve through to New Year's Day.  And it'll all fit in your hand luggage.

Therefore, rather than "In the Sack", it's more like "In the Bag", but that's just semantics!

You probably have lots of similar items to this in your wardrobe - black dress, striped tee, neutral scrappy sandals....work with what you've got and a capsule wardrobe is within your grasp.  Add a couple of statement necklaces and it's in the bag!

So here are the pieces, all easy to find from the high street or online.  They all work together seamlessly and are great wardrobe staples. And I hope you noticed that I included my favourite shorts from Katies, that I wore here for our #shareyourshorts challenge!

From L-R | Skirt, Sussan on sale, $31.47 | Dress, Mix Apparel, $35.00 | Serape, Sussan $49.95 | Red Singlet, Target $9 | Silver Sandals, The Iconic, $19.95* | Snakeskin heels, The Iconic on Sale $24.97* | Striped Tee, Target $20 |  Shorts, Katies, $39.95* | Splice Top, Target $69 | Espadrilles, Target $20 | Silver Clutch, Sussan, $39.95 | Mono Bucket Bag, Katies $59.95* | One Piece Swimsuit, Target $59

I love the idea of the simple monochrome with a flash of seasonal red.  So simple, yet super stylish.

I'm linking up with Mystery Case, hope you get a chance to check out the other 11 bloggers blogging - here they are for your enjoyment!

  3. Absolutely love the way you've put this capsule wardrobe together - and the way you did your collages. So fresh and uncluttered. (Might I be so bold to ask what you use for this?)

  10. This is fabulous - I tend to go a little over the top with red on red on red at Christmas - this year I am going to try to be a little more elegant and give monochrome with a splash of red a go!! Thanks :)
