AlphaStyle || C is for Camel

I'm so sorry if you feel misled.  This post is not about camels.  It's about the colour camel.  Soz.

Camel is one of those colours that makes everything look expensive - have you ever noticed that?  From leather bags to trench coats, camel is the perfect colour when you want to look polished.

In winter, black, grey or navy are perfect foils for pretty much every colour pop that you want to throw at them.  Did you know that camel is the exact same in Spring and Summer?  It melds with your winter greys, it makes white look whiter and it works with every single colour of the rainbow.  It's perfect with a hint of a tan, too.

Mix camel with other neutrals for a look that screams "I can afford to buy everyone a bottle of champagne - each!" - whether that's a good thing or not is up to you....

Let's start with some curated camel inspiration then I'll share my pic of the camel crop from the high street.

L-R ONE || TWO || THREE || FOUR || FIVE || SIX || SEVEN || EIGHT || NINE || TEN

I've chosen all my Pins to be neutral outfits in their entirety but a pop of emerald, turquoise, yellow, pretty much any colour would work with all of these outfits, too.

On to my high street finds - I'll be completely honest - the shops are not drowning in a sea of camel this season.  It's not a particularly high fashion colour at the moment, but I think it's such a classic choice that it never actually goes out of style, anyway.

L-R || Printed Dress with Stud Pocket Detail, ASOS, $47.53 || Witchery Fine Gauge Knit, $99 || ASOS Midi Skater Skirt, $38.03 || ASOS Coat with Rib Removable Sleeves (how much do I love thee?) $98.87 || Jeffrey Campbell Cors Bootie, Nasty Gal, on sale $96 || ASOS Scuba Midi Skirt with pockets (POCKETS!) $57.04 || ASOS Culottes $57.04 || Target Cadi Tote with Pouch, $40 || Mackenzie Sandal, Nasty Gal, $35

 Have I convinced you that camel is a great choice for the warmer seasons?  I'm not sure I'm going to be able to resist buying one of those midi skirts.  Or the sleeveless coat, either!

  1. I completely agree Vicki! Camel is classy. It looks fabulous with white I think. And you are very right in saying it suits all seasons too.

  2. I've never really considered camel as a colour. I'm more of a deep brown person if I'm going with that kind of shade. I would have to try it on to decide if I liked it I think.
